# ⛓️‍💥 How to unlink/delete items manually and in batches / bulk?

### How to manually unlink items

1. **Open a shared item:** Click to expand any item that is shared across multiple boards.

2. **Switch View:** Select the **Same Item Multiple Boards** view from the item's top tabs.

3. **Click the Trash Bin Icon: **Click the trash bin icon on any board you want to unlink the item from.

4. **S**elect Unlink or Delete

* **Unlink:** This simply removes the synchronization between the items and frees up one app usage. However, both items remain intact on their respective boards; only the sync connection between them is removed.

* **Delete:** This will permanently delete the item from the board where you clicked the trash bin icon. The corresponding item on the other board will not be affected unless it is configured to sync deletions.


### How to manually unlink multiple items easily via Usage UI

1. **Open a shared item:** Click to expand any item that is shared across multiple boards.

2. **Switch View:** Select the **Same Item Multiple Boards** view from the item's top tabs.

3. **Access Settings: **Click the** Settings** (gear icon) located next to the **Add to Board** button.

4. **Click Usage: **Scroll down to the bottom and check all the boards that our app is using. Click each of the boards to expand the items and click each item.

This will open multiple tabs for each item where you can easily delete/unlink an item within their respective boards. Just go to each tab and click Same Item Multiple Boards Tab then delete/unlink the item.



### How to unlink/delete an item via automation triggers

1. **Open your Source Board:** Click **Automate.**

* Click **Create** and then click **Create from scratch.**

2. **Select a Trigger:** Select and set any trigger based on your workflow. (**Example: **When **STATUS** changes to** DONE**)

3. **Select an Action: **Search** "Same Item Multiple Boards"** to show all of our custom actions.

* **Unlink** **item from** **Board**: This unlinks the item from the target board which then deducts from the app usage.

* **Remove** **item from** **Board**: This removes and unlinks the item from the target board and also deducts from app usage.


### Alternatively you can use these as your action for bulk unlinking and deletion:

* **Unlink item from every other board: **This will unlink the item from all boards to which it has been shared.

* **Delete item from every other board**: This will delete and unlink the item from all boards to which it has been shared.
