# 📍What Is the Item Locations Column?
The **Item Locations Column** is a feature in the Same Item Multiple Boards app that automatically shows you **all the boards where the same item exists**.
Every time you add an item to additional boards using SIMB, this column appears on both the **source board** and the **target board**, helping you keep everything aligned.

# ⭐ Why This Feature Matters
Managing shared items across multiple boards can get confusing.
The Item Locations Column helps you:
* 👀 **See at a glance** where each item lives
* 🔄 Reduce the need to manually check item views
* 🤝 Keep teams aligned and avoid duplicates
* 🧭 Navigate between boards instantly
This feature improves visibility, keeps work synchronized, and makes collaboration smoother across departments.

# 📝 How the Item Locations Column Works
Once you add an item to another board using the SIMB app, the Item Locations Column will be created automatically.
Here’s what you can do:
### 🔍 Hover
Hover over the icons inside the column to see the **names of all boards** the item exists on.

### 🚀 Click to Navigate
Click a board name and you’ll be taken **directly to the same item** on that board.

### 🎚️ Toggle the Feature
If you don’t need the column, you can turn it off from the app settings at any time.

> ✅ **Note:**
> The column only appears once an item has been added to **at least one other board**.

# ⚙️ How to Disable the Item Locations Column

If this feature isn’t needed for your workflow, you can disable it:
1. Open any item and go to the **Same Item Multiple Boards** tab
2. Click the **Settings (⚙️)** icon
3. Toggle off **Item Locations Column**

Once disabled, SIMB will no longer create this column for **newly added items**.
> 🔁 Already created columns will stay visible until you delete them manually.

# 🔄 How to Reinstall the Item Locations Column (If You Disabled It)

If you want the column back:
1. Open any item and go to the **Same Item Multiple Boards** tab
2. Click the **Settings (⚙️)** icon
3. Go to Board Settings
4. Click on "**Add Column**" in front of  **Item Locations.**
