# 🌟 What Is Same Item Multiple Boards?
${youtube}[](WPMz_G9VFFk?si=oDKjdrDUSBpVbOfL)

Managing tasks across several monday.com boards can quickly become messy—duplicate items, manual updates, and “Where does this task actually live?” chaos.
The **Same Item Multiple Boards (SIMB)** app fixes this by letting you **show the exact same item on multiple boards**, fully synced, with **zero duplication**.
It’s perfect for teams that need items to appear in more than one place, such as:

* 📌 Keeping all tasks in a **Main Board**, while showing sprint-related items in **Team Boards**
* 👥 Showing selected tasks on a **client-facing board** without duplicating work
* 🔄 Letting departments collaborate without copying or moving items manually

# 🚀 How to Use the App
You can work with SIMB in **two simple ways**, depending on how hands-on you want to be:

* **Manual Sharing** — you decide which items go where
* **Automations** — the app sends items for you based on rules
Let’s break them down 👇

# ✅ Option 1: Manually Add Items to Other Boards
This option is perfect if you want full control over what gets shared.
### How to do it:
1. Click the item you want to share
2. Open the **Same Item Multiple Boards** view
3. Select the boards you want to add the item to
4. Click **Add**
And that’s it—the same item now appears on all selected boards.

# ⚙️ Option 2: Automate Your Workflow
Let automations do the heavy lifting.
SIMB automations send items to other boards when certain conditions occur.
Some popular recipes:
* 👤 When a *person is assigned* → add the item to **Team Tasks**
* 🚦 When *status changes to In Progress* → add the item to the **Sprint Board**
* 🆕 When *a new item is created* → show it in **Main Board + Client Board**

### To set up an automation:
1. Go to the **Integrate** tab
2. Search for **Same Item Multiple Boards **and click it
3. Pick a recipe and customize it

# 🔁 Shared Columns Across Boards
When an item exists on multiple boards, SIMB can sync values in shared columns—as long as the columns:
* Have the **same name**, and
* Are the **same column type** (Status, Text, Date, etc.)
You can view the synced columns in each item’s view.

⚠️ **Not supported:** Formula, Mirror, Connected Boards, and some special columns.

# 👀 Stay Aware: Visual Indicator + Item Locations Column

SIMB adds helpful visual cues so you instantly know which items are shared.

### ✨ 1. Visual Indicator

A small icon appears next to the item’s name whenever that item exists in multiple boards.
Great for scanning at a glance.

### 📍 2. Item Locations Column
This optional column shows **all boards** where the item currently lives.
Click any board name to navigate directly to that item.

# ❌ Removing an Item From a Board (Without Deleting It)

If an item shouldn’t appear in a particular board anymore—but must stay in others:
1. Open the SIMB item view
2. Uncheck the board you want to remove
The item disappears from that board but remains synced everywhere else.
